Kansas Citians hold the key to unlocking the holiday spirit. Our history is rich in traditions like the iconic Plaza Lights or the whimsical theatre performances at MTH Theatre at Crown Center. It goes without saying that 2020 looks and feels different and the same goes for this holiday season. The spirit of giving and keeping each other safe is a priority. Fortunately, Kansas City has created a new way to continue experiencing the holiday magic, some without having to leave our homes. Holiday Light Tours Covid -Style
- Christmas in the Park at Longview Lake is a charming winter wonderland that is vibrant under the stars with its 500,000 lights and animated figures.
- Winter Magic-A Drive-Thru Christmas Lights Experience is located in the historic Swope Park. The mile-long path is full of winter magic and enchantment, elves working in their toy shop, and enough lights to put a sparkle in your eye. The best part, however, is that proceeds benefit KC Parks Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.
- Evergy Plaza Lights has returned to Kansas City for its 91st year. Thousands of lights illuminate the streets, creating a picturesque scene. Weather permitting, enjoy these lights from a horse-drawn carriage.

- MTH Theatre at Crown Center, “A Spectacular Christmas Show,” is streaming on Demand this holiday season. Purchasing tickets allows your family 48 hours to tune into holiday classics and innovative arrangements that are magic for your ears.

- KC Repertory Theatre’s, “A Christmas Carol,” is a Kansas City holiday tradition, 40 years in the making. Your family can accompany Ebenezer Scrooge on his journey with Christmas Past, Present, and Future with front row seating from your couch. A one-time show can be purchased and enjoyed thanks to KCRep’s partnership with Kansas City PBS.
